It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Charles Rosacker who departed this life on January 11, 2025, at the age of 79. A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bill will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to family, commitment to community banking, and legacy of service. He had a very short and very brave battle with cancer.
Born on August 11, 1945, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Richard and Harriet Rosacker, Bill was the oldest of five kids. Bill was a true St. Paul kid, growing up within the schools and attending St. Thomas Military Academy, as well as the College of St. Thomas (now the University of St. Thomas). Post college, Bill was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Division, where he served his country with honor and courage. His time in the military instilled in him a deep sense of duty and resilience, values he carried throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bill began a remarkable career in banking that spanned more than 50 years. Known for his integrity, leadership, and commitment to community banking, Bill worked tirelessly to fight for community banks. Bill served as the President and CEO of United Bankers' Bank for almost 35 years, creating a strong Bankers' Bank before his retirement in 2019. As a dedicated advocate for community banking, he proudly served community bankers across the country through his work with the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and TCM Bank, sharing his knowledge and passion for local banks. Bill also served as a director to First National Bank of Bagley and First State Bank of Rosemount.
Bill shared 43 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pam, until her passing in 2017. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. The two raised two children together, constantly instilling values to teach them to be good parents to their children as well. The two enjoyed travelling and exploring the world together. They also enjoyed their golf dates at Minneapolis Golf Club, time on the river on their boat, and lobbying in Washington, DC. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual support. Bill was able to find love again with his partner Myra. As young adults, the two dated and reconnected in recent years. Myra was able to provide love and support to Bill over the past few years and bravely by his side daily during his short battle.
